About Us

Background

UUM Sports Centre operation established since 16th February 1984 at the temporary campus in Tanah Merah, Jitra, Kedah khown as Universiti Utara Malaysia Sports and Recreational Unit. Then in 1991, UUM Sports Centre were moved to the main campus in Sintok. Here, the UUM Sports Centre operation capability improved with conducive facilities provided at the new campus. Starting from 2002, the UUM Sports and Recreational Unit were given recognition as Universiti Utara Malaysia Sports Centre. This is in accordance to the progression and function managed currenlty by the Sports Centre.
